I went to the doctor not too long ago and got some blood work done.  Jeff had been diagnosed with hepatitis (something he picked up from his job as a funeral director, most likely) and I thought I should get checked for that.   Finally got a call today and the nurse told me that:
1. I had elevated alkaline phosphatase
2. The hepatitis test is delayed – no results yet.
3. The rest of the test results were negative or normal, depending on the type of test.
She was in a hurry to hang up with me, but I stopped her and had her identify what elevated alkaline phosphatase was.  [she had to put me on hold while she looked that up.]
The answer is liver enzymes.    Which is an indication, in some cases of, hepatitis.
Turns out it’s potentially even worse than that:  elevated alkaline phosphatase
So, I’ve got to wait until the hepatitis results come back, then see about additional blood tests.  Weeee!  More stress!  And More Worry!
