sobek/unraveler

These are shots taken at home, full body view. In the head on view, my face is clearly visible in this shot, but most people that saw me were amazed that I could see out at all.

Taken with a cell phone in the office (Thanks Casey!). Lower quality, perhaps, but somehow all the creepier for that. I think it's the lighting that does it - somehow, more "organic".

The first one is from the Orientation office and the girl on the right was under the desk working on the wiring for her computer when I came in. When she "surfaced", I was standing right there. She shot backward so fast she got a carpet burn on her finger. She was very reluctant to pose for this shot, but gave into peer pressure from her co-workers.

The second is with Susan in Arts and Sciences - it looks like Sobek is about to take a bite out of her head. But she needn't have worried - Sobek already has his mouth full. With Skittles!

The cloak and the hands were store bought, but the mask was handmade. The side view will expand to show the detail - including the little snakes and the cobwebs.

I've also included an "inside" view of the mask. A little uncomfortable, but not too bad.

Finally, the staff. I bought the toy snake online, gutted it, and wrapped it around a spray-painted PVC pipe. It worked out really well and wasn't too heavy to carry around.

One side note - the snake had inside it:

1. Stiff wire to hold the shape. 2. Styrofoam beads for stuffing. 3. And rocks, I'm guessing to give it weight.

Since this was made in China - I'm now in possession of rocks from China.

Goodbye from Sobek!
