Here he is: Cthulhu. All dressed up and ready for the prom. Or maybe not. I spent a lot of time walking around in this get up and knocking thing over. I was afraid it wouldn't hold up well, but the mask was solid and I did more damage to my environment than it did to me. Much like the mask from last year, the flash from the camera illuminated my vision/oxygen hole too much - I edited the image to hide my face and get a more valid image of the costume. As usual, click the image for a larger size. |

At an angle - you can see the gloves better. People kept thinking I was looking out those huge eyes, in fact, they were opaque. And yes, the mask is just as heavy as it looked. This also has a better shot of the wings. |

Side view. I always get an idea in my head of how one of these is going to turn out. This ended up looking better than what I had in my head. I mean, seriously, this is some freaky looking stuff. :) Whenever someone commented on my shoes, I always told them, "I gave up from the knees down," But really, I've done experimental footwear before and it never goes well when you spend the day walking around. |

Back View. On one version of this I had the wings and the attachments emerging from a torn shirt. Turns out it blended in to the rest of the robe just fine and wasn't notable. I could have skipped the wings entirely since the mask was really the focal point, but I figured I should be authentic. |

I'm lifting the head a bit, which is how I walked around on campus much of the day. The head was heavy and I was worried about putting too much pressure on it. I dunno about you, but I think he looks kinda hungry in the picture. |

This is in the Office of the Registrar on campus. I always make a stop here - this is a very cool crew. A number of them dressed up this year too. He doesn't look as fierce here for some reason. |

Visiting the staff in the Office of the President. I thought a staged handshake photo would be appropriate. "A vote for Cthulhu is a vote for change!" and "Why vote for a lesser evil?" I stopped back later and saw the President himself - but didn't get a photo. Still, it was a first - I always stop by, but he's usually in a meeting. |

One of my co-workers got some great shots in the conference room. He's got a nice camera with a cool flash - made the colors look really vibrant. Looks more... organic. |

In the conference room at the office. Side view. Looking really cool and ready to go on the hunt. People kept thinking I was some kind of bug and this photo kinda supports that. I should have passed out cards with a link to the Wikipedia page. |

Last photo. Holding my head up again. Still hungry... |
