I stopped by the pharmacy today to pick up a prescription for my room-mate – the one that they couldn’t fill earlier. \u00a0 I was okay with doing that since I had decided to get a flu shot for myself anyway.<\/p>\n
Turns out that my insurance doesn’t cover flu shots at a pharmacy. \u00a0I’m guessing they expected me to go to my doctor – but it didn’t specifically exclude other locations. \u00a0 Maybe I could have found a back-alley flu shot for cheaper, but the pharmacy price wasn’t too bad and I saved the trip to the doctor.<\/p>\n
The guy that gave me the shot was personable and professional – except that he didn’t wear gloves. \u00a0In this case, the precaution should have been on his end. \u00a0I was pretty unlikely to pick up anything from him (he was careful with the needle), but if I started spurting blood everywhere, well, that was his problem. \u00a0 And I guess mine too since it wouldn’t be normal for that to happen – but him wearing gloves wouldn’t help that.<\/p>\n
They recommended that I sit there for 20 minutes – I waited about 30 seconds before heading out. \u00a0 Since I was just going across the parking lot to the IGA, I figured I could make my way back if something went wrong.<\/p>\n
