{"id":601,"date":"2009-06-02T12:38:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-02T12:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/02\/600-day-swim\/"},"modified":"2009-06-02T12:38:00","modified_gmt":"2009-06-02T12:38:00","slug":"600-day-swim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/02\/600-day-swim\/","title":{"rendered":"600, day, swim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is post number 600 for my blog and I had rather hoped for something deeply meaningful or a fundamental truth about <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">existence<\/span>. \u00a0Instead, I think it&#8217;s pretty much going to be same old-same old.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I ended up \u00a0having a really really crappy day yesterday. \u00a0 One task that should have taken 15 minutes lasted all day. \u00a0I had 2 meetings that annoyed me and promised to create a massive amount of work. \u00a0And then I screwed up the survey tool software by not carefully following the instructions &#8211; though, to my credit, they were very much counter-intuitive.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, my swim was delayed and I didn&#8217;t get to go to the pool until after work. \u00a0I was really looking forward to getting some of my frustrations out. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Instead, the two lap lanes were in use. \u00a0 \u00a0There&#8217;s a guy swimming in one and a mother teaching her kids to swim in the other one. \u00a0 Now, it&#8217;s a big pool and I&#8217;m pretty sure that a swimming lesson is not <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">appropriate<\/span> in the lap lanes, but I tried to not be annoyed by it and got in the lane with the guy swimming laps. \u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I tried to stay out of his way &#8211; he was less concerned about staying out of my way &#8211; and as a consequence I ended up scraping my elbow on the wall. \u00a0 \u00a0 I stopped in the middle of the lane, lifted my arm out of the water for an inspection and as soon as I did that, it started to bleed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, that was it for me. \u00a0I kept my arm out of the water and got out of the pool. \u00a0 I snagged a paper towel and had the bleeding mostly stopped by the time I was dressed and on my way out the door. \u00a0 \u00a0When I got home, I opened it back up and cleaned it with\u00a0alcohol\u00a0and then slathered on the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">neosporin<\/span> and a band-aid. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I played some video games, read a book, and cooled down. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Today is not shaping up to be awesome, but I&#8217;m going to keep my head down and get through it. \u00a0 \u00a0 On a brighter note, the boss is out of the office this week &#8211; so, I&#8217;m predicting a slightly longer than an hour lunch hour.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>later&#8230;<\/div>\n<div class=\"blogger-post-footer\"><img width='1' height='1' src='https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/tracker\/7938355-8625805814045088963?l=approximatelyequalto.blogspot.com' alt='' \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is post number 600 for my blog and I had rather hoped for something deeply meaningful or a fundamental truth about existence. \u00a0Instead, I think it&#8217;s pretty much going to be same old-same old.
