{"id":593,"date":"2009-05-08T18:03:00","date_gmt":"2009-05-08T18:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/08\/flu-box\/"},"modified":"2009-05-08T18:03:00","modified_gmt":"2009-05-08T18:03:00","slug":"flu-box","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/05\/08\/flu-box\/","title":{"rendered":"flu-box"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the past week, there has been a giant cardboard in the kitchen\/breakroom here in the building with a garbage bag as a liner. \u00a0 There are no labels or signs anywhere near the box to indicate i&#8217;s purpose and rumors abound. \u00a0 \u00a0Today, I contacted the building coordinator and he gave me the facts.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The cardboard boxes are for the swine flu. \u00a0\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Okay, stay with me on this, it gets better.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The idea is that restroom users will be able to open the door to the restroom as they leave while shielding themselves from the handle with a paper towel. \u00a0 That potenially swine-flu laden towel can then be disposed of in the cardboard box. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All fine in theory, except:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>1. How would we know to follow that practice?<\/div>\n<div>2. The restrooms exit out into the kitchen. \u00a0Not a good storage area for biohazzard materials.<\/div>\n<div>3. The garbage cans are right inside the restroom doors &#8211; allowing a user to open the door while holding a paper towel, then throw it away and exit before the door closes.<\/div>\n<div>4. There&#8217;s already a garbage can in the kitchen &#8211; so now we have two and less floorspace.<\/div>\n<div>5.
