{"id":586,"date":"2009-04-27T00:17:00","date_gmt":"2009-04-27T00:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/27\/eye-sunshine-books-pandemic\/"},"modified":"2009-04-27T00:17:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-27T00:17:00","slug":"eye-sunshine-books-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/27\/eye-sunshine-books-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"eye, sunshine, books, pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday afternoon, while still at work, my right eye started to swell shut. \u00a0 I used to get this when I was a kid and even had allergy tests done that were <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">inconclusive<\/span>. \u00a0The remedy back then was <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Benedryl<\/span> and sleep &#8211; and I didn&#8217;t have much choice on the sleep part after taking the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">Benedryl<\/span>.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, when this happened, I at least knew what to do. \u00a0I stopped on my way home and got some <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">Benedryl<\/span> and took one as soon as I got in the door.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>And though I didn&#8217;t fall asleep, I was pretty much drugged up the rest of the evening. \u00a0I took another before I went to bed. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>On Saturday, I still wasn&#8217;t back to normal &#8211; so, I took another dose. \u00a0 Spent much of the day outside and when I was feeling a little better, I ran some errands. \u00a0 Which was not the best thing to do. \u00a0I&#8217;m always a careful driving, but I could feel my reaction time was not up to par and took things extra slow. \u00a0I felt a little better after a snack and about a gallon iced tea from Wendy&#8217;s.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Today, my eye is better \u00a0&#8211; almost back to normal. \u00a0I still don&#8217;t know was causes this, but at least it didn&#8217;t interfere with any plans.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>It&#8217;s been really nice outside the past couple of days and I got a little sun for my pale geek flesh. \u00a0I&#8217;m a ways from tan, but I think shorter doses will be better.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve been doing a lot of reading this weekend, finished one book, read another cover to cover, and started a third. \u00a0 Lazy weekends are made for sitting outside and reading.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I got a call from Mom this afternoon with some precautionary warnings about the potential pandemic. \u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if I&#8217;m going to be stocking up on food and water yet, but the Ohio case that&#8217;s been found is in Lorraine county &#8211;
