{"id":568,"date":"2009-03-13T19:18:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-13T19:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/13\/dual-fan-swim-watchmen\/"},"modified":"2009-03-13T19:18:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-13T19:18:00","slug":"dual-fan-swim-watchmen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2009\/03\/13\/dual-fan-swim-watchmen\/","title":{"rendered":"dual, fan, swim, watchmen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been trying to get dual monitors set up on my work machine for a few weeks now. \u00a0My first try was a cable splitter that &#8220;should&#8221; have done the job. \u00a0 No luck. \u00a0Even the computer repair guy couldn&#8217;t get it going. \u00a0 He suggested a new splitter cable &#8211; which we ordered. \u00a0That was delayed in shipping and when it finally came in it didn&#8217;t work either. \u00a0 Next, he thought it might be the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_0\">DVI<\/span>-D cables and that didn&#8217;t work either. \u00a0Finally, he tried a new video card &#8211; which finally worked, but caused a &#8220;CPU Fan failure&#8221;. \u00a0 \u00a0So, now the fan runs all the time. \u00a0At full power. \u00a0It&#8217;s actually a nice breeze, but in time this will kill the fan. \u00a0He tried another fan and that was no different. \u00a0 So, a replacement motherboard is on order and should be here <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_1\">Monday<\/span>. \u00a0In the meantime, it&#8217;s quite loud here. \u00a0 But the dual <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_2\">monitor<\/span> is very very cool.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I bought some new square-cut <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\">speedos<\/span> and <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\">goggles<\/span> recently and tried them out in the pool today. \u00a0The anti-fog coating on the <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\">goggles<\/span> really helped &#8211; they also were tinted which was nice. \u00a0 The <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\">speedos<\/span> covered up the bits that are supposed to be covered up and that&#8217;s about all that one can expect of them.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I&#8217;ve been trying to mix up my swimming workout a bit with a goal of doing more and more of the crawl, but with more variation so I don&#8217;t get burned out. \u00a0 Today I went though all the strokes I know &#8211; including butterfly &#8211; and really mixed it up. \u00a0The variation made it easier to get through my 30 laps. \u00a0Of course, this afternoon I&#8217;m eating a bag of <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_7\">Chilli<\/span>-Cheese <span class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_8\">Fritos<\/span> &#8211; so I&#8217;m not turning into some kind of fitness nut.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>I went and saw &#8220;Watchmen&#8221; the other day. \u00a0 Really good flick &#8211; well done and thought provoking.
