{"id":2750,"date":"2024-05-29T13:21:41","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T17:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/?p=2750"},"modified":"2024-05-29T13:21:41","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T17:21:41","slug":"welcome-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thunderofwade.com\/blog\/2024\/05\/29\/welcome-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I\u2019m usually home from work before Jim is, so when his car pulls in the driveway I\u2019ll gently wake the dogs from their naps and we\u2019ll meet him at the door.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dogs get greeted first, as it should be, and then Jim will set down his bag and coat and give me a hug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll say to him, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHello, husband, I\u2019m glad you\u2019re home,\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He\u2019ll respond with, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cHello, husband, I\u2019m glad to be home,\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We don\u2019t have to call each other husband.&nbsp; It could just be Jim and Anthony.&nbsp; But, it\u2019s something we\u2019ve done since we got married.&nbsp; Just a quiet and small reminder &#8211; an affirmation, maybe &#8211; of that commitment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then we&#8217;ll end the hug and decide on dinner and talk about our day and all the other things that come with having a life that is shared.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m usually home from work before Jim is, so when his car pulls in the driveway I\u2019ll gently wake the dogs from their naps and we\u2019ll meet him at the door.&nbsp; The dogs get greeted first, as it should be, and then Jim will set down his bag and coat and give me a hug.
