Rotated the tires?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No, in fact, I was just supposed to have deposited more money in it. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, I treat my savings account as a safeguard for \u201cwhen things go horribly wrong\u201d. \u00a0When I hit a certain threshold in my checking account, I\u2019ll transfer some over to the savings. \u00a0\u00a0Keeps the day-to-day disasters at bay &#8211; and makes that nest egg a little better over time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But that\u2019s not how I\u2019m supposed to be doing it, apparently. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My savings account needs constant attention and contact &#8211; and I got a cat because i want to do the exact opposite and the cat is fine with that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re like, \u201cI like you a lot, but if we could limit our interactions a bit, that would be great and no one will get hurt,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But my savings account needs more from me and if I don\u2019t give it more, it goes inactive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though, that really didn\u2019t seem to <em>do<\/em> anything. \u00a0I went ahead and transferred some money over and there were no warnings or indicators in the online system. \u00a0It wouldn\u2019t have closed since there was money in there and I\u2019m using the rest of the accounts pretty normally. \u00a0So, ummm\u2026 maybe it just missed me?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I try not to get angry at people since it\u2019s usually a system or process that\u2019s really at fault &#8211; though if people don\u2019t stop putting cheese on my hamburgers I may have to raise my voice &#8211; but I think this needs a little additional investigation and a policy change request. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My savings is something I\u2019d kinda like to ignore until I need it. \u00a0Much like how my cat ignores me until he thinks he needs the litter box cleaned. \u00a0Or a belly-rub for a precise but unknown amount of time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At least I know now the interval for the savings account. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cat is\u2026 variable. \u00a0And more likely to draw blood.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently got a letter from my bank indicating that because I hadn\u2019t done anything with it in too long, my savings account was now inactive.
