After a night of not-great sleep, I was seriously snuggled into my covers this morning and dreading the time when I would have to get out of bed. \u00a0When my alarm starting going off in the early AM, I was facing away from the clock – as though that would be put me further away from having to get up. \u00a0I tried to turn over to hit the snooze, but I was too wrapped up in the covers and too reluctant to uncover and let in any of that cold air.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, I instead arched my back and twisted so that i could reach the clock and as I did, I felt a sudden pain in my side. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I had pulled a muscle trying to hit the snooze.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it hurt badly enough that I just went ahead and got up. \u00a0And it still hurts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Because I\u2019m an idiot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dressed and out to the garage, I push the button to open the garage door.<\/span><\/p>\n

And there\u2019s a loud bang.<\/span><\/p>\n

The door lurches and then continues on up at a reduced speed. \u00a0There\u2019s a cable hanging down and the spring and pulley are on the floor of the garage.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sigh.<\/span><\/p>\n

I check the car for damage and don\u2019t see any, then get in the car and pull it out into the driveway. \u00a0\u00a0With the cable out of the way, I pull the latch\/cord and then try to slowly lower the door. \u00a0Lowing the door is the easy part – slowly is quite a bit more difficult. \u00a0I knew the door was heavy, but didn\u2019t know just how heavy.<\/span><\/p>\n

It slammed down with more force and noise than I\u2019d planned, but it was closed and I could be on my way.<\/span><\/p>\n

I called a local garage door repair company and the guy could come out that afternoon – so I took a little vacation time to get that sorted.<\/span><\/p>\n

A couple hours later and he\u2019d replaced both springs, the rollers, and the cables for under $200. \u00a0A little paperwork and a check and he was on his way.<\/span><\/p>\n

I went to pull my car into the garage – marveling at how quiet it was – and then couldn\u2019t get the door to close. \u00a0Turns out the sensor had a loose wire and it was easily resolved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kind of an odd way to start the week, but at least Monday is done. \u00a0Time to go lean on a hot water bottle and see if I can my side to stop hurting.<\/span><\/p>\n
