I got 20 laps in the pool yesterday – bringing me up to 99 miles so far for the year. \u00a0After work today, I’ll do another mile and be at 100. \u00a0 Since my goal is 120 miles for the year, I’m feeling pretty good about being able to reach that. \u00a0Not Olympic by any means, but not bad for an almost 40 year old geek.<\/p>\n
I got to see my former co-worker and his family last night. \u00a0They came over so that he could pick up his stored music and we went out to eat with one of my friends . \u00a0They got to see my car and we had fun chatting with their 2 year old.<\/p>\n
And I had turned on my air-conditioner for the first time. \u00a0There was a 2 year old in my house and I want to stay on her good side. \u00a0The adults are less likely to get audibly cranky when the house is hot in the summer – the 2 \u00a0year old is less reserved.<\/p>\n
Later that evening I played some Darksiders 2 – sweet game.\u00a0Lots of clever puzzles and monsters to smack down.<\/p>\n
Also got a little free mental analysis from my friend – he made a connection between my love of boxes and containers (I freaking love containers) and my tendency to compartmentalize my thought processes. \u00a0 \u00a0Seems pretty obvious in hindsight, but it was something of a\u00a0revelation\u00a0to me. \u00a0 \u00a0Not sure what to do with this new knowledge – though I’m not giving up on my boxes. \u00a0 And I’m kinda fond of my mental walls too. \u00a0Yeah, it does keep people at a distance, but it also shields me against telepaths. \u00a0 \u00a0Good luck trying to get into my head, Sookie Stackhouse. \u00a0Or Professor Xavier. \u00a0Or Martian Manhunter. \u00a0 \u00a0You may scoff, but telepaths are a bigger problem than you think. \u00a0And I’m ready for them.<\/p>\n
Did I mention how much I love containers?<\/p>\n
