I had elevated alkaline phosphatase<\/div>\n<div>2. The\u00a0hepatitis\u00a0test is delayed &#8211; no results yet.<\/div>\n<div>3. The rest of the test results were negative or normal, depending on the type of test.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>She was in a hurry to hang up with me, but I stopped her and had her identify what\u00a0elevated alkaline phosphatase was. \u00a0[she had to put me on hold while she looked that up.]<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The answer is liver enzymes. \u00a0 \u00a0Which is an indication, in some cases of, hepatitis.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Turns out it&#8217;s potentially even worse than that: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elevated_alkaline_phosphatase\">elevated alkaline phosphatase<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So, I&#8217;ve got to wait until the hepatitis results come back, then see about additional blood tests. \u00a0Weeee! \u00a0More stress! \u00a0And More Worry!<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I went to the doctor not too long ago and got some blood work done. \u00a0Jeff had been diagnosed with\u00a0hepatitis (something he picked up from his job as a funeral director, most likely) and I thought I should get checked for that. \u00a0 Finally got a call today and the nurse told me that: 1.
