My Turn to Panic

Fri May 16, 2003

I had a nightmare last night, still got me pretty well shook up this morning. In the dream, my parents had signed me up for a 2 mile swim and an international law competition, in Canada. The swimming part didn't bother me - I figured I could just drown. The international law competition was really scary, I don't know very much about law in general, much less international law. So, I was going to look like a complete idiot in from of several hundred people. We drove to the convention hall, I got changed into my suit and we were standing in the lobby before the competition was about to start, just talking. Then it hit me. Total panic. One moment I was standing there, the next and my 'flight' reflex took over and I ran. Shoving people aside, slamming through the doors, down the street, and through a supermarket.

I woke up out of breath with my heart pounding.

As I said, I'm still a little shaky. I was hoping that writing this down would help a bit. I don't remember ever being this scared in a dream before, even when the zombies were after me.
