The bull skull was paper mache. I used balloons to get the basic shape and then carved it up when it was dry. You can see the popped balloons - it was a make or break moment for the costume.

The skull was going to be the focal point of the costume so I knew it had to work well and be comfortable for the day. I glued an old navy cap into the bottom so that it would rest well on my head. If I kept my head down it wasn't visible, but this shot shows the brim. Clever, no?

The skull, with the sword, the ball of golden (spray-painted) yarn, and the rags from my torso. Thought it make an interesting set.
