hello kitty - zombie

Let's get this party started! 7:15 and Hello Kitty Zombie is at Starbucks - getting caffinated up and ready to face the day. Actually, I just got a biscotti - I was worried about too much fluid intake early on.

Here's Hello Kitty Zombie with the crew from Student Life. Jen, far left, didn't want a hug. There's always a few people that get just a little freaked out by my costumes - even when I take off my head. That's never my goal - startled, yea, I freaking live for that - but not creeped out.

The Office of the University Registrar usually does up things pretty well for Halloween and this year was no exception. Here's my friend Wendy as one of the Brides of Frankenstein. They had a big party and offered me some candy - but I couldn't really get to my pockets. That purple streamer door in the background was a challenge to get past with my huge head. I used this pose most of the day. Hello Kitty Zombie - ready to attack!

Time for a break for lunch. It was a relief to take off the head and just sit for a few minutes. I also chugged my beverage - the foam wasn't heavy but it was like an oven in there. Not many other people in costume in the student center, but everyone seemed to enjoy it. I got a few high-fives when I put the head back on and headed out. Casey gets a photo credit on this one along with the Starbucks shot - the later photos are even more impressive.

Since the head was just resting on my shoulders and there was plenty of "play", it tended to shift around. Which is not a bad thing - looks like poor Hello Kitty Zombie got her neck broken over in Leigh Hall. Awww... poor kitty. Looks like I'm about to lose some of the gore off the whisker as well. The bone looks really good in this shot - turned out to be a good prop.

It's all about the oversized footwear. Everyone loved the shoes and 90% of the people that saw them asked me where I got them. I think everyone wanted a pair - and I'm considering wearing them to work. Here I am with my friend Mandy at the party I went to the week before my campus walk around. I had a lot of fun and won second prize in the costume contest.

My buddy Casey really came through with the photos - this is from late in the day in my backyard. There were so many good shots I had trouble narrowing it down, but I really like the way Hello Kitty Zombie is emerging from the woods - ready to chow down on some braaaaaains. Or tuna. Tuna's fine too.

That's it for Hello Kitty Zombie. A long day, but a lot of fun. I had a great time with people on campus and really enjoyed the day. Time to retire this costume and start planning for next year. And no, I'm not giving any hints.
